Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, has said his
team are trying to catch up with second-placed
Manchester City.
The Gunners moved up to third position in the
Premier League table, after a 2-0 victory over
Everton on Saturday and as a result, are now four
points behind the defending champions.
Wenger admits they are not close to winning the
title, but says they can compete for second place
– a feat they have not achieved since the
2004/2005 season.
“Of course it is possible,” said Wenger when
asked about the possibility of overtaking Manuel
Pellegrini’s men.
“If you ask a team four points behind us if they
could catch us and they would say certainly, yes.
“It’s very tight. Man City are four points ahead
and there are plenty of people chasing us in the
top four. It’s down to consistency.
